As part of its 2014 Corporate Social Responsibility programme, employees from Leeds-based Q8Oils completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk on 5th April and raised money and awareness for Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA), an independent charity providing a life saving, rapid response emergency service to over five million people across Yorkshire.
Twelve Q8Oils employees completed the 25-mile walk and successfully raised over £1300. It was a punishing achievement with many of those taking part overcoming painful blisters and tired muscles to come through and complete all three peaks in 12 hours.
There were a few aching bodies at work on the Monday morning following the walk – especially for those having to endure a long day on the Q8Oils stand at MACH 2014 – but the feelings of achievement by those who finished more than made up for a few days of aches and pains!
Commenting, Naomi Holden says: “The willpower of everybody who took part on the day was immense and the team spirit and commitment shown to raise such a sum of money for YAA was amazing.”
It’s not too late to make a donation and anyone wishing to contribute to the Q8Oils Three Peaks Challenge can do so at www.justgiving.com/q8oils3peaks.
